Sekeny
The Sekeny Project area, located approximately two hundred and fifty kilometers southwest from
Antananarivo, occurs within the central–southern province of Fianarantsoa. The project comprises
thirty three contiguous squares and the area under tenure totals approximately two hundred square
kilometers. Project title is one hundred percent (100%) in the name of PAMM.
Access
Access to the project is south from Antananarivo, along the Route Nationale-7, for a distance of
approximately two hundred kilometers, to the regional town of Ambositra, then west along the Route
Nationale-35, for approximately one hundred kilometers, then south along local roads, for a distance
of approximately twenty five kilometers, to the project area. General project infrastructure is
considered moderate.
The project area occurs within the Archaean crystalline high plateau basement. Typical rock types
within the project area are gneissic amphibolites, micaschist and quartzites and these rock types are
interbedded in a complex way. From Besairie (1966, 1973) these rock types are assigned to the 2.7 to
3.0 Ga System du Vohibory.
From the Service Géologique Carte Miniere Et Des Indices (1956, Direction de le Geologie library,
Antananarivo) the project area has recorded occurrences of gold as well as occurrences of copper,
uranium and gem quality beryl.
The Company considers that the project area has potential for open cut gold mining.
